GRUB RESCUE -- RECOVER YOUR WINDOWS PC

Hi friends,
                 Many of us like to use dual boot means two operating systems in one drive. If you use that two O.S's belongs to windows ie., WIN 7, WIN 8 & WIN XP. And there is no problem even you delete the another O.S. ok..
                The problem is when you dual boot your pc with windows and linux. If you delete your linux from your pc then it may chance to get the grub rescue command console... In that time you have to recover your windows o.s for that do the following steps.....



Step-1:   Boot your computer to the Windows 7 DVD . At this screen choose to Install now.

Step-2:  Select your language and click Next.

Step-3: Click the button for "Use recovery tools".

Step-4: Then select "Command Prompt".

Step-5: When the command prompt opened it will look like this:

Step-6: The command we will use, bootsect.exe, is in a folder (named boot) on the DVD.

    We need to know what drive letter has been assigned the DVD drive to access the folder.

Code:

Type: diskpart
and press Enter
 
Type: select disk 0 (zero)
and press Enter
 
type: list volume and press Enter             

In this screen shot, the 7 DVD is letter: G

Step-7: Use your DVD drive letter and

CODE:

Type: exit
and press Enter
 
to close Diskpart
 
Type: G: (use the letter of your DVD drive)
and press Enter
 
Type: cd boot
and press Enter
 
Type: dir
and press Enter

to verify that bootcect.exe is there (if you really need to)

Step-8: To restore the "bootsector" code:

CODE:

TYPE: bootsect /nt60 SYS /mbr
and press Enter

Step-9: When completed successfully,

Code:

Type: exit
and press Enter

This will close the command prompt window.

Step-10:  Now select Restart....

After this your pc will start normally as pervious....

Note: If this method fails to restore the MBR, you can try the bootrec command as it is also a tool for repairing the MBR. Try the below method it will surely help you.....

Method :-2

Step-1: Put the windows 7 media in the DVD drive, and then start the computer....

Step-2: Press a key when you are prompted.... and click Install Now...

Step-3: Select a language, a time, an input method, and then click Next...

Step-4: Click Repair Your Computer..

Step-5: Select the operating system that you want to repair and then click Next...

Step-6: In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt..

Step-7: Type the following code:

                   bootrec.exe /FixBoot  and press Enter then it will shows the successfully completed console.

After that Type :

                  bootrec.exe /FixMbr  and press Enter then it will shows the successfully completed console.

After that again type the code as

                  bootrec.exe /FixBoot  and press Enter...        

When completed successfully,

Code:

Type: exit
and press Enter

This will close the command prompt window.

Step-8:  Now select Restart....

After this your pc will start normally as pervious....
